Before saving our world became something important, what we consumed and used to make products, food and clothing was not important. At the moment we have no choice. Something has to change. The (carbon) footprint per person is too high. If we want to continually live on our planet, drastic changes are needed. We of the HC-lifestyle have long been engaged in sustainability and wanted to contribute our bits in this beautiful innovation. Our goal is to both teach consumers and companies more about sustainability and how you can contribute to the improvement of the world. Every day people wear clothes, and now we made sure that you can spread our idea and brand to the outside world by purchasing our sustainable clothing.
By wearing our clothing you will feel better about yourself, not only because you are contributing to a better world, but also by feeling the quality of our products.
Bamboo fabric is increasingly being used to make clothing. Many brands are starting to embrace sustainability. In addition to sustainability, we believe fair trade is just as important. That’s why we checked the working conditions of all our partners.
For every product sold, we plant a tree somewhere in the world. This stops deforestation and decreases CO2 in the atmosphere.
In Asia they started making paper from bamboo pulp. Through this innovation we now can make bamboo fibre that can be used to make yarn and fabric. Bamboo fibre is a natural textile. It is then made into thin threads, which is spun, dyed and woven into cloth.
Bamboo fabric is similar to the softness of silk. The fibres are smooth and without sharp edges that can cause irritations to the skin. Bamboo is also antibacterial and fungicidal. This is because bamboo can thrive in the wild due to a biological agent without the use of pesticides or fertilizers. In this way the fabric is healthier and more hygienic (than conventional cotton fabrics). Much less water is used for the production of bamboo fabric than with conventional fabrics.
When you compare bamboo with other fabrics, it is extremely breathable. The bamboo fibre is covered with micro-openings, giving the fabric better moisture absorption and ventilation. As a result, it is able to keep the carrier cooler in the heat and noticeably warmer in the cold. Bamboo fabric is also anti-static and UV-protective.
Bamboo is a very sustainable material because it requires little water to grow and it grows extremely fast. Bamboo is also 100 percent biodegradable. Bamboo also ensures that more usable oxygen is released into the air.
The demand for bamboo is not only growing in the clothing industry, but also in other industries.
